Concept and Theory – Tbilisi

Concept and Theory – Tbilisi was founded as a platform for local and international artists, philosophers and theorists interested in and working in the fields of conceptual art and critical theory. It intends to generate debates from the existing fields in the local discourse on both art based on concept and engaged with theory as well as philosophy as such. By connecting conceptual artists, philosophers and theorists working in Tbilisi and abroad Concept and Theory – Tbilisi aims to intensify discussions and elevate them into another level of discourse especially on new forms of colonialism and imperialism, eurocentrism and its counterparts, philosophy of the Soviet context and its aftermath, etc.
The platform hence stands for an active exchange and collaboration, both online and on site by organizing and facilitating public discussions and exhibitions. An online collection with texts and translations on conceptual art and theory is planned as to promote the discourse.
